Puerto Rican-born Benicio Monserrate Rafael Del Toro Sanchez, better known as Benicio del Toro ("Del Toro" means "of the bull" in Spanish) has starred in films such as License to Kill (1989), Swimming with Sharks (1994), The Usual Suspects (1995), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998), Snatch (2000) and Traffic (2000).
In a career spanning 26 years - Benicio Del Toro has portrayed a vast array of characters; from the iconic leader Che Guevara in Che (Steven Soderbergh, 2008) to the self-obsessed and destructive gambler Franky 'Four Fingers' in Guy Ritchie's Snatch (2001).
Always known for his character-acting and dedication to roles, his face is instantly recognisable, whilst his trademarks include his slurred, mumbling voice and dark circles under his eyes. March 2012 saw him honoured by his own country - with a degree by the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico for his impact on the cinema enterprise.
